I am proud to announce that my screenplay adaptation of Willa Cather’s THE SONG OF THE LARK has been included in Stowe Story Labs’ 2020 program.
Stowe Story Labs is a non-profit effort to bring screenwriters, filmmakers and creative producers together with seasoned, working industry professionals to get work made and seen. Regardless of the current circumstances and what may happen in the rest of this year, I am honored to have my work seen and heard by this program.
This adaptation has been my primary focus ever since attending the 2015 Centennial Celebration of the novel at the National Willa Cather Center in Red Cloud, Nebraska. Oh how much has changed in these few years, yet some things, the important things, still remain the same.
As Thea Kronborg says in the novel (and the film), “some things you learn best in the calm, and some in the storm.” I look forward to future developments. I am ready, bring on the storm.
