I’m proud to come from a long line of Nebraskans, which makes me right at home with the Los Angeles based Nebraska Coast Connection. Founded by UNL alumni Todd Nelson, this “Home Sweet Home in Hollywood” welcomed me with open arms back in 2015 when I showed up with my feature adaptation of Willa Cather’s The Song of the Lark. I found it fitting as Cather too is a proud Nebraskan, and I quickly became known as The Cather Girl; not a bad moniker if I say so myself.

Join me on April 14th 2025 at 8PM for the NCC Hollywood Salon at Catcher in the Rye in Toluca Lake. This is a great opportunity for in person networking. I’ll be discussing my journey from small towns to the big city and everywhere in between.
For all of you folks not from Nebraska, don’t worry, you don’t have to be a cornhusker to be invited. Bring your “Nebraska state of mind” for some neighborly goodwill with folks out here trying to make it in tinseltown.
