I am honored to be directing Holiday Micro-Reads with the Los Angeles Female Playwrights Initiative this Saturday 12/12 at the Samuel French Bookstore on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood!
The LAFPI micro-read series is a unique chance to meet new artists and participate in some instantaneous creativity. Actors will arrive in the morning and get scripts, have a bit of time to work with a team of women directors (including myself), and then we present the readings in the afternoon. It is a quick process, but a great opportunity to work on new plays written by women! I can’t wait to see which stories I get to tell.
Networking starts at 1PM before the 2PM Micro-Reads presentations. Get full details on the LAFPI facebook page!
The Los Angeles Female Playwrights Initiative is an LA-based movement working to ensure that women playwrights are fairly represented on local stages, and beyond. Check out their website at www.LAFPI.com.
Micro-Reads is a unique program that the LAFPI calls “quick, fun, informal reads of a page pulled out of a box and read on the spot by whoever’s around.” I for one am looking forward to getting into the sandbox to play and seeing what emerges.
